Mariners Beat Cincinnati, 7-6
|
Lloyd Crosier did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Cincinnati Reds from losing, 7-6, to the Seattle Mariners at Great American Ball Park. Crosier went 2-4 with a triple, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Mariners, at 53-14, have a comfortable 14-game lead in their division.
Dickie Pierce, the 28-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Pierce contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Seattle up, 3-2.
"This team's hitting on all cylinders," said Mariners manager D.J. Madrid.
