RiverDogs Heading to A Championship Series
|
Advancing to the A Championship Series was "never in doubt" for the Charleston RiverDogs, said Pete Bingham.
"The Augusta GreenJackets are a great team, but we knew we were going to come out on top," Bingham said after the Regional Championship Series was clinched 4-2, with a 1-0 win at First Energy Park. "If I was a betting man, I wouldn't bet against us."
Augusta manager Cooper Johnson gave credit to the winners, saying he had expected his club to put up a better fight.
Bingham was named series MVP, on the strength of his 0.56 ERA over 16 innings pitched, with a 2-0 record and 9 strikeouts.
The A Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Regional Championship Series finishes.
