Yoshida Blasts Giants, Mariners Take Game 4, 15-13
On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot San Jose Giants team, the Virginia Beach Mariners had a tough assignment. Shunsen Yoshida delivered.

The Mariners left fielder was unstoppable for the visitors, as he was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 4 in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 15-13. Yoshida, 26, earned accolades for his efforts. The win means Virginia Beach now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Ronan Leonard, the Virginia Beach designated hitter, contributed a 2-run triple in the top of the third inning to make the score 12-0, Mariners. For the game, Leonard was 2 for 5 with 2 triples and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Leonard. "You've got to get results."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at San Jose Municipal Stadium in San Jose.
