Game 5 was big. So was Alex Cordell.

The Cincinnati starter rose to the occasion at Rogers Centre today, leading the Reds to a crucial 4-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. Cordell threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball as the Reds won on the road to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Pierre Johnson to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Reds ahead, 4-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"It's a mindset," said Cordell. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Saturday, October 26th , 2052.
