Mays, Muckdogs Wallop AquaSox in Game 3 of A-CS
|
The Batavia Muckdogs have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Everett AquaSox, winning 6-2 at Dwyer Stadium today. Muckdogs second baseman Rich Mays went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Muckdogs to 2-1 in the best-of-7 A- Championship Series.
A key moment came with one out in the bottom of the third. That's when Mays hit a changeup from Ronald Achoy for a grand slam home run, putting Batavia up, 6-2.
"We were a little off-kilter to start the series, but we're getting things figured out now," Batavia manager Adam LaBreck told reporters. "At least I hope we are."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dwyer Stadium in Batavia.
