Home Loss Shrinks Indians Series Lead to 3-2
|
The Colorado Rockies have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Cleveland Indians, winning, 5-3, at Tecumseh Field. Rockies right-hander Julian Lewis threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Rockies to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Regional Championship Series.
Colorado used a well-timed hit by Walt Lininger to capture the win. The second baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rockies ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Julian knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said Colorado manager Roberto Rivas.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sunday, November 5th , 2062.
