Braves Win 6th Straight, Take Down Knights, 4-3
|
Starting pitcher Mal Smart pitched well enough to help the Atlanta Braves beat the Las Vegas Knights, 4-3. The save went to Arturo Frank, number 1 for him. Atlanta improves to 38-30 with the win. They lead their division by 3½ games.
Adrian Cooke, the 27-year old designated hitter , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cooke contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Atlanta up, 2-0.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Las Vegas manager Kenny Matuszak. "But we decided not to take it."
