Home Loss Shrinks Twins Series Lead to 3-2
|
The Memphis Blues have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Minnesota Twins, winning 3-1 at Target Field today. Blues right-hander Logan Atwell threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Blues to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.
Memphis used a clutch hit from Yohan Roque to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blues ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Atwell. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Wednesday, October 18th , 2051.
