The New York Mets had to overcome a big game from London first baseman Luke Cantrell to leave Citi Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-6, in 11 innings. Cantrell went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 4 runs. The winner was New York reliever Brian Vincent, now 4-5. The loser was Austin Huey. The Mets now have a record of 32-39.

The Mets got a clutch hit from third baseman Sammy Singer. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to right-center, to win the game for the Mets.

"It's what good teams do, find a way to win," said Singer.
