Virginia Black Bears starter Chase Erickson was in fine form against the Vancouver Cascades at The Sparrow's Nest, leading his team to a win, 5-2. Erickson, now 5-6, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. R.J. Slaven converted his 7th save in 12 tries.

Virginia took a 5-2 lead on Rodd Marshall's 20th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Marshall hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Vancouver pitcher Vincent Dion visibly frustrated.

"Chase was throwing strikes, locating well," said Virginia manager Jacob Crenshaw.

Virginia, with the win, is 25-48.
