The Virginia Black Bears clipped the Miami Marlins, 7-3, in 12 innings at LoanDepot Field. The standout performance belonged to Virginia pitcher and Chicago, Illinois, native Solomon Cucchi. The win was credited to 25-year old left-handed pitcher Calvin Kuhns in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Stefan Boisvert took the loss. Virginia bumps their record to 36-37 with the win.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Iván Arca came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Miami pitcher Stefan Boisvert, he hit a 0-2 sinker for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Virginia on top, 5-3.
