Philadelphia Defeated By Marlins, 7-4
|
The Miami Marlins withstood a fine game by Philadelphia left fielder P.J. Estevez at Citizens Bank Park, to upend the Phillies, 7-4. Estevez went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The save went to Woody Jones, his 11th this season. Miami is now 38-36, while Philadelphia is 41-33.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Johnie Reynolds? The Miami center fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Marlins on top, 6-4. For the game, Reynolds had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Reynolds.
