Marlins Get 7-0 Win Versus Oakland
|
The timely hitting of David Almager helped the Miami Marlins down the Oakland Athletics, 7-0. Almager was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Marlins. The winner in relief was Greyson Tadic. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. With the win over Oakland, the Marlins improved to 33-41.
Miami relied on the hitting of Yovi Pizana to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Marlins on top, 1-0. For the game, Pizana had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Miami manager Nick McCollough.
