Athletics Stumble, Lose to Marlins
|
The Miami Marlins thumped the Oakland Athletics, 9-1, at O.co Coliseum. Felix Suzuki was a big reason his team got the win. Suzuki was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Billy Ott. He's now 3-3. He went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits for the Marlins. The Marlins raised their record to 34-41.
With Miami leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Suzuki hit a screwball from Eleazar Ramírez for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Marlins ahead, 3-0.
Said losing manager Alejandro Suarez: "Give the Marlins credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."
