Indians Topple Yankees, 7-4, as Jacobson Shines
|
Cleveland defeated New York, 7-4, in large part due to former first round draft pick Gil Jacobson. Jacobson drove in 6 runs. The third baseman had 1 double and 1 home run for the Indians. Cleveland starter Jaycob Murray was credited with the win after throwing 92 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 3-7. Russ Driscoll was credited with the save, his 1st in 4 tries.
In the bottom of the third, Jacobson had a 3-run home run for Cleveland. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Indians on top, 6-3.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Jacobson.
The first-place Indians now have a record of 44-32.
