Giants Collect 5-3 Win Versus Baltimore
|
San Francisco first baseman Benton Kiser contributed significantly to his team's 5-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles. Kiser, who led the AL in on-base percentage with .467 in 2060, went 1 for 2 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Giants. Lee Shape recorded the save, his 16th. The Giants bumped their record to 40-37 with this win.
San Francisco used a well-timed hit by Kyrie Kerr to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Giants ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it was important.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Kiser told the San Francisco Times.
