JetHawks Hand San Bernardino 5-3 Loss
|
Lancaster took on San Bernardino in front of a lively crowd.
No one was more impactful than Pop Faison in the 5-3 Lancaster win over San Bernardino. Faison, who is tied for 9th in the CAL in triples with 1, went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Alex Shahinian picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-3. He struck out 7 in 6 innings. Cliff Zhang closed out the game, earning his 3rd save.
The JetHawks got a clutch hit from Victor Benavidez with two out in the top of the eighth inning. Benavidez jumped on a 1-1 fastball from Axel Plute and hit a run-scoring single, staking his club to a 5-3 lead.
Faison attributed the triumph to "a good team effort."
San Bernardino drops to 10-14.
