A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds.

The New York Mets defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 5-2, in American League action at Citi Field. New York pitcher E.J. De La Rosa had a standout performance. New York is now 39-39, Cincinnati 46-32.

E.J. De La Rosa was masterful. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 8 innings.

"E.J. answered the bell," said New York manager Colton Whittle.
