Dodgers Need Extra Innings to Top Blue Jays, 8-5
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers topped the Toronto Blue Jays, 8-5, in 13 innings. Los Angeles catcher Isaac Joseph, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 7 with a home run and a double. He drove in 7 runs and scored once. Scott McKinnis earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record is now 7-2. Los Angeles now sits at 45-33, while Toronto falls to 56-22.
Joseph had a game-changing double in the top of the 13th. On a 1-2 cutter from Michael Turnbull, he banged a bases-clearing double to right-center, giving the Dodgers a 8-5 lead. It was the 15th double of the year for Joseph.
Joseph said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
