Visiting Rattlers Beat Clippers, 5-1
|
The Rancho Cucamonga Rattlers stymied the Martinez Clippers, 5-1, at Recreation Park. Alexander Motta had a good day at the plate. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Rancho Cucamonga. The loss has the Clippers at 1-1.
Rancho Cucamonga used a well-timed hit by Leroy Brooks to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rattlers ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I just tried to put the barrel on it," said Motta.
