Veasey Socks 2 Home Runs in 5-2 Los Angeles Win
|
A 4-RBI performance from designated hitter Trent Veasey, who finished 5th in the WEST in slugging percentage with .527 last year, led the Los Angeles Dodgers to a win over the New York Mets, 5-2. Los Angeles reliever Lucas Williams got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Colton Parisi was tagged with the loss. Markel Saud, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.
Kevin Tanaka drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances. He scored 2 times for Los Angeles. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Colton Parisi. It was his 14th RBI of the season.
Tanaka offered a curt "no comment" when asked to discuss the win after the game.
Los Angeles now sits at 47-33, while New York falls to 42-38.
