Padres Lose Again, 8-1, to Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers topped the San Diego Padres, 8-1, in National League action at American Family Field. The standout performance belonged to Milwaukee pitcher and Windemere, Texas, native Dennis Border. Border, now 3-8, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 6, and allowing no runs. The losing skid has reached 6 games for San Diego.

Ryan Sylvester had a big 3-run home run for the Brewers in the bottom of the first inning. With Milwaukee leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from James McElyea, who is tied for 3rd in the AL with a 10.0 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Brewers on top, 4-0.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said San Diego manager Asher Karczewski.
