Twins Stick Cubs with 3-1 Loss
|
Minnesota Twins pitcher Bertram Rosenberger was in fine form, leading his team past the Chicago Cubs, 3-1. Rosenberger, now 6-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Gabriel McClanahan, credited with the save, is now 22 for 26 in save opportunities.
Nick Haftel had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Minnesota. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Minnesota in front, 3-1.
"Not to be Captain Obvious," said Chicago manager Phil Ross, "but we need to push more runs across the plate."
Chicago now has a 6-game losing streak.
