He went 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 4 times and driving in 3 for Modesto. Charlie Morrison picked up the win, lifting his record to 3-0 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 1 in 5.1 innings, while yielding 1 run. Modesto now has a record of 15-10.
In the top of the second, the Nuts found themselves in a jam. Martinez had runners on 2nd and 3rd with two out. The score was 2-0, Modesto. Jeff Fonseca was at the plate, hoping to deal the Nuts a serious blow. Instead, he grounded out to end the threat.
