Kennedy Goes Deep Twice in 7-3 Ignition Win
|
Behind the hitting of Randy Kennedy, the Indianapolis Ignition stopped the Texas Rangers, 7-3. Kennedy slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Ignition. Neal Frizell notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 9-0. Brian Riley collected his 9th save.
Indianapolis grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Kennedy hit a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Ignition out in front, 2-0.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Andy Daniels told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
This loss makes it 7 in a row for Texas.
