Streaking Mariners Win Another One, 9-2
|
The first-place Seattle Mariners took on the Miami Marlins in front of a spirited crowd.
Seattle starter Jake Prendergast kept the Miami hitters in check, while his team cruised to a win, 9-2. The Mariners, at 60-30, have now won 8 straight.
Harwood Witt took Casey Kramm deep with one out in the bottom of the fourth. On a 1-0 curveball, Witt drilled a 3-run home run to left. It was his 7th home run of the season and put Seattle on top, 4-1.
"This team's hitting on all cylinders," said Mariners manager Tommy Vuono.
