Melendez Cracks 5 Hits
|
Oliver Melendez was sizzling at the plate today. In a game played at O.co Coliseum, the Oakland third baseman blistered the New York Yankees for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace his club to a 5-1 victory.
"Melendez was too tough to get out today," Yankees skipper Nate Williams said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
Oliver Melendez doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 7th.
