The New York Mets beat the Portland Hops, 5-4. New York pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Calvet Medrano led the way. Colton Parisi recorded the save, making him 6 for 6. The win for the Mets lifted their record to 54-37.

Elih Zelaya dealt the Hops a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and New York leading 2-1, Zelaya, who finished 2nd in the WEST in batting average with .347 in 2042, hit a 1-0 sinker for a run-scoring single.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Medrano said.
