Twins Win at Las Vegas, 4-3
|
The Minnesota Twins topped the Las Vegas Knights by the score of 4-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Samuel Everhart. Everhart was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles for the Twins on the day. Christopher Albaugh got the win, improving to 8-4. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. Dolph Gervais earned his 18th save in 25 chances.
With Minnesota leading 3-0 in the top of the second, Everhart hit a run-scoring single off Las Vegas hurler Justin Ayer. It was the 144th hit of the season for Everhart and put his team ahead, 4-0.
Las Vegas manager Kenny Matuszak said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The win lifted the Minnesota record to 58-33.
