White Sox Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Chicago White Sox outlasted the Arizona Diamondbacks, 7-6, in 14 innings. Chicago first baseman Theodore Holtry stood out with his performance. He belted 2 home runs, while scoring 4 and driving in 2. The second-place White Sox are 53-41.
Holtry had a game-changing home run in the top of the 14th. On a 1-2 fastball from Glen Ford, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the White Sox a 7-6 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Holtry.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Holtry. "But we got it done."
