Rockies Dump Yankees, 6-1
|
The Colorado Rockies picked up a win at Coors Field, knocking off the New York Yankees, 6-1. On the mound for Colorado was right-hander Bud Harrell, who played a pivotal role in the win. Harrell, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Colorado now owns a record of 45-50.
The Rockies got an important contribution from right fielder Keiran Coleman, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 2-2 sinker into right for a 3-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Rockies ahead, 5-0.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Coleman.
