The Indianapolis Ignition picked up a win at PepsiCo Park, dropping the London Royals, 4-2. Phil Meyer, who is tied for 7th in the AL in wins with 10, was the difference-maker. Mainard Pérez wrapped it up, recording his 5th save. Today's win puts Indianapolis at 55-49, while London falls to 44-60.
Christopher Boyles went 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs for Indianapolis. The 23-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a 2-run single off A.K. Perozo. It was his 124th hit of the season.
"Phil gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Indianapolis skipper Jay Duren.
