Hops Come Back Late to Top Expos, 3-2
|
Portland turned a good effort from starter Jeffrey Robinson into a win over the Montreal Expos at Olympic Stadium. The final score was 3-2. Tyrone McClain earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-2. The Hops now have a record of 36-69.
Portland used the timely hitting of Noah Austin to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hops on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Robinson told the Portland Herald.
