Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Truist Park.

A 4-RBI performance from center fielder Matt Mechler led the Texas Rangers to a win over the Atlanta Braves, 9-6. Texas reliever Matias Roberts picked up the win, raising his record to 5-3. Noah Thompson was tagged with the loss.

Mechler had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch fastball from Nate Southard, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Rangers a 9-6 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Mechler.

"I'm glad this one's going in the books as a 'W'," Mechler said.

Atlanta has now lost 4 consecutive games.
