Atlanta Drops Toronto, 8-6
|
The Atlanta Braves overcame a good performance by Toronto first baseman Zachary Dahdal to knock off Toronto, 8-6, at Rogers Centre. Dahdal went 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. T.J. Rusk recorded his 1st save for Atlanta. Atlanta leads the Eastern Region Atlantic Division by 5½ games.
Josias Jaynes, the 26-year old designated hitter , had a direct impact on the outcome. Jaynes contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Atlanta up, 4-2.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Jaynes said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
