Slumping Rangers Lose Again
The Detroit Tigers weathered a fine game by Texas third baseman Sean Darko to upend the Rangers, 6-3, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Darko went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. Braxton Vaughn earned save number 24 this season. After today's action, Detroit sits at 61-51; Texas slips to 41-71.

Rodrigo Rodriguez had a big 2-run double for the Tigers in the top of the second inning. With Detroit leading 3-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Justus Van Eps and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tigers ahead, 5-0.

"We're not going to feel sorry for ourselves," said Texas skipper Kevin Hall. "Wouldn't do any good."
