Expos Lose Versus Cleveland, 4-3
|
The Cleveland Indians did just enough to sneak past the Montreal Expos, 4-3, at Olympic Stadium. Cleveland pitcher Chris Romano, in particular, had a standout performance. Romano yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 13-4. The Indians lead the American League Pons Division by 10 games.
Aiden Wallace, who is a three-time Gold Glove winner, had a direct impact on the outcome. Wallace contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Cleveland up, 3-1.
"Chris did a heck of a job," said Cleveland manager Justin Jackson.
