Expos Knock Off Milwaukee, 4-3
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Montreal Expos eventually prevailed.
No one was more impactful than Joe Edwards in the 4-3 Montreal win over Milwaukee. Edwards, who is on pace for 87 RBI this season, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Mason McKinney, now 14-2, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Zach Strain nailed down his 12th save.
C.J. Cordero, the 32-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cordero contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Montreal up, 2-0.
"Both teams played hard," said Montreal manager Dirk Botelho.
The second-place Expos improved to 66-51.
