Angels Earn 9-8 Win Versus Astros
Fans watched the California Angels and the Houston Astros fight to the finish.

Skyler Angelillo was a vital contributor to the 9-8 California victory over Houston. The Angels third baseman went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. California reliever Patrick Class picked up the win to move to 12-3. Jason Miranda suffered the loss.

California used a clutch hit from Marco Menchaca to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Angels ahead, 9-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Menchaca, "but we got it done."

The Astros have now dropped 5 straight.
