Rockies Fall, 4-1, to Cleveland
|
Benton Hofmeister, who finished 2nd in the AL in ERA with 2.57 in 2058, pitched well, but the Colorado Rockies still fell short, losing, 4-1, to the Cleveland Indians at Tecumseh Field. Picking up the save was Francisco Vergara, his 31st. Cleveland, at 72-48, sits in first place in the American League Pons Division.
Cleveland took a 3-1 lead on Frodo Ramírez's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run, which Ramírez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Colorado pitcher Finn White visibly frustrated.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Indians manager Justin Jackson, "I like our chances."
