Schaffer Impressive in 3-0 St. Louis Triumph
St. Louis starter Quentin Schaffer put the Boston offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his sinker in leading the Cardinals to a 3-0 win. Archer Hall earned save number 35 this season. The Cardinals are now 69-54.

Schaffer dominated for St. Louis, raising his record to 11-8. Boston hitters had few good at-bats against the right-hander, who scattered 4 hits over 8 innings while striking out 3.

"Quentin did a good job of managing their lineup," said St. Louis manager Zachary Norat.
