Baseball fans saw a good contest between the San Jose Giants and Ventura Gulls.
San Jose third baseman T.R. Halverson was a significant contributor in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Ventura Gulls. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for San Jose. After today's action, San Jose sits at 15-17, while Ventura falls to 22-10.
Halverson contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for San Jose in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-1, Halverson took a changeup from Rafferty Boyer and stroked the home run to left-center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Giants to leap in front, 4-3.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Halverson, "one at-bat at a time."
