Expos Shut Out Marlins, 1-0
|
The Montreal Expos got a magnificent performance from pitcher Graham Doss, who stifled the Miami offense en route to a 1-0 Expos win at Marlins Park. Doss went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-4. Montreal currently is in second place in the Eastern Region North Division at 70-56.
Tom Gula, the 30-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Gula contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Montreal up, 1-0.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Doss.
