JetHawks Get Clonked by Giants, 5-2
|
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the San Jose Giants were eager to watch Aydan Ambrosino square off against Kevin Sennett of the visiting Lancaster JetHawks. In the end, the Giants won the game, 5-2, with Aydan Ambrosino leading the way. Ambrosino, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Jackson Fritsch earned the save, his 1st, for the Giants.
Jake Philips dealt the JetHawks a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and San Jose trailing 1-0, Philips hit a 0-1 fastball for a 2-run single.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said San Jose manager Leon Becerra.
