Indians Topple Blue Jays with Late Rally
|
The Toronto Blue Jays got a superb performance from pitcher Erubiel Martin, but the Cleveland Indians still won the game, 3-2. Martin threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The winner in relief was Easton Wilson. He is now 2-7. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Picking up the save was Rafael Antonello. He's now 3 for 11 in save chances.
Cleveland took a 3-2 lead on Jonathan DeMarino's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Toronto pitcher Brent Brown in the bottom of the eighth.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Matt Martin.
The 4th-place Indians improved to 63-67.
