Angels Edge Giants, 3-2
|
California Angels starter Ralph Mayes turned in a sterling performance against the San Francisco Giants, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. The win makes California 82-49.
California took a 3-2 lead on Drury Robinson's 20th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Robinson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left San Francisco pitcher Silvano Liano visibly frustrated.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said California manager Ivan Rael.
