Memphis got a decent performance from pitcher Mickey Whitcomb, but it wasn't enough to beat the Indianapolis Ignition. Indianapolis won the Blues Stadium contest, 4-3. Whitcomb threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Allan Spincic converted his 22nd save in 26 tries. The second-place Ignition improved to 77-55.

Indianapolis relied on the hitting of E.J. Sadowski to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Ignition on top, 3-2. For the game, Sadowski had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Sadowski told a Indianapolis Observer reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
