The Stockton Ports earned a win at Banner Island Ballpark, stopping the San Bernardino Stampede, 4-2. Starting pitcher Alex Parent played a big role in his team's success. Parent, now 4-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. With the win, the Ports sit at 20-16.

Naldo Merino had a big run-scoring double for the Ports in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Stockton leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a splitter from Jesse Romo and swatted a double to right. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ports ahead, 2-0.

"Alex went out and did what we needed," said Stockton manager Tristan Batista.
