The Memphis Blues defeated the Indianapolis Ignition by the score of 6-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to shortstop Abel Lagunas. Lagunas was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Blues on the day. Memphis pitcher Curt Brown earned the win, hiking his record to 10-9. Dwayne Rush suffered the loss. By defeating Indianapolis, the second-place Blues improved to 75-58.

Lagunas had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-1 splitter from Dwayne Rush, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Blues a 5-3 lead. It was the 18th home run of the year for Lagunas.

"This game is going to humble you at times and you've got to man up and deal with it," said Indianapolis manager Jay Duren.
