Nealy Delivers Walk-Off Win for Yankees
|
Boston third baseman Jalen Duke had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Duke was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2, even as New York beat the Red Sox, 9-8. New York bumps their record to 51-84 with the win.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With New York trailing 8-7, Steven Nealy hit a fastball from Louis Favreau to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Yankees had a walk-off win.
"This place sure got loud," said Nate Williams, the New York manager.
