The Pittsburg Diamonds defeated the Martinez Clippers, 13-7, at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Leading the charge for Pittsburg was catcher B.J. Aitchison. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Lonnie Calderon got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. With the win over Martinez, the Diamonds improved to 7-26.

Pittsburg took control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, A.J. Bristol hit a run-scoring single to make it 7-6, Diamonds.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Bristol. "It sure beats the alternative."
